Silky lotus stitches!

These days the art focus is on my husbands work,
people love what he can share and smother the pieces in admiration.
He is deserving of the hype...
I didn't bring my knitting needles here, I could easily buy some... but good yarn, not likely (I did try)... So instead I will expand my abilities, take the silky band wagon onto the lotus which is easier I have heard than the silk applique piece I am working on now.
Pink, sweet, bright and made alive with each small stitch.
These photos were taken back in Australia when we were designing the courses that Urgyen now teaches - Sacred Silk applique...
My work alas looks a little different!
In the future, I will offer the online version of this course here.
Until then, Urgyen will be teaching this lotus course around the world, as well as the more advanced trainings, you are welcome to follow along with Urgyen here and here
and I will share my slow progress too.

  1. Your flower is beautiful! I know next to nothing about applique but would love to learn- are the pieces cut out separately and then stitched onto a background? Thanks for sharing :)

  4. That is beautiful! Sounds like you are on a grand adventure, I will enjoy reading about them as I sit in dreary, cold Kansas and dream of traveling. :-) Thank you for allowing me to live vicariously through you!

  5. Usually I gravitate to mountains and cold which I love; the chance to be quite and cosy, it's a nice change for our family thank you for commenting, Kansas seems kind of exotic to me too, we had plans for the US this year but not sure if it will happen, I have heard it is beautiful and the people friendly.
