So, How
goes the unschooling while traveling?
Hmmm,
good, easier than before... I guess!
She, he and
we, are learning a lot of things.
It helps
living within a community setting, a rich cultural environment, which is how we dwell in Tenerife.
World travel is having an impact on her view and factual understanding for sure.
We have just bought a Ipad so educational apps can frequent in our play
but sometimes a $1 box of coloured chalk is all they need.
We
tackled workbooks for the first 7 weeks of travel but she adamantly refuses to partake
in such dreary work lately.
She is
pushing me to come up with some more creative activities...
More and
more I am discovering her interests and the direction she would like me to
assist her in.
In many
ways she has indicated that dance, music and dramatic arts is her arena
and I am looking into camps and other ideas for her to embrace this
more consistently.
This week
Dakini was part of the children’s cultural event at the Tibetan festival we are
participating in.
With much
enthusiasm she lets go of my hand for interaction with the world around her.
Chimme weaves in and out of the crowd, enjoying the gathering of people.
He too is discovering the tactile world... You can find him touching and investigating everything.
He has picked up spanish words and dazzles the household with his sweetness.
I am feeling content with the school/ no school situation at the moment which is a relief let me tell you!
How wonderful... there is so much to be learnt in the real world and traveling to such interesting places.
ReplyDeleteI do also love a box of chalks, even aged 40!
