It has been said that the gypsies originated from North India, a people who migrated from the himalayan foothills, through the middle east and into europe, to then spread globally in the last few hundred years!
The gypsy image holds a great romanticism.
The original bohemian, colourful, layered, adorned!
The scarf is an iconic essential of the peasant, no one wears hats here, cumbersome things to a woman in activity but scarfs, Oh yes everywhere!
The word gypsy to me indicates a universal response, a deep primal call to mirror the impermanence of life in ones living situations, ones attitude and sense of the world.
