Inspiration

Hey friends…
So you found me here!
This is what happens when you live for a time, far from the world in your own dreamland. This blog is my bridge back to form, an earthly endeavour filled with, I’m sure, incomprehensible ramblings of a girl disappearing into the misty mind of life.
Oh and also to connect with some wonderful inspiration.
If you are new to blogs and all the whimsical wonders out there,
here are 6 blogs that have moved me, stirred me, motivated me or just been pretty.

The Hermitage
Soulemama
softearth world
A faerietale of inspiration
Tibetan Buddhist Altar
Tibetansacredarts (my lovley man's neglected blog)

And there are so many more beautiful worlds out there, that i will share another 6 with you soon

...You're welcome

And if you know a blog that might change my world, please leave a comment below!

Steady days are here! ( variation on moments of monday)

happy living free

Monday again, it has been a full on activity week, and a week of putting myself out there...

For many years I have moved around Australia, India and the world in search of a space that would claim me, that would whisper a welcoming "you're home now!" It hasn't come along yet and I am a bit sick of waiting.
at the stable
There is strong Gypsy energy in me and well… my husband is a nomad by tribe. So happily we move as soon as that north wind blows. Our 2 year family plan is based on which country, state or town would be nice to discover next.
We dream of a Tipi community and a larger bus (with stained glass windows and a wood fire). I plan my travels and my next escape with beauty and style.

Cooking outside

But really, yes really! I just would like another year or two here, building community, friendship, and skills… growing my own food making my own stuff, hanging out with the children and the animals that depend on me or inspire me. Giving all my ideas a chance to blossom and be fruitful. It’s funny you know, even saying this feels like I am breaking some gypsy code of conduct…
It's interesting isn't it, the limitations we put on ourselves!

In my attempt to embrace this anchored stage, I have been directing my energy into creative homesteading and community building.

 Community food swap
This week has seen some of my projects initiated, yesterday was the first meeting of our crafting group, and today was the first of many horse riding lessons for my daughter.
I have a 6 month plan for my garden, and a determination to be a bee keeper (asap), my cow is one month away from calving, and I have a monthly permaculture group and community food swap meeting coming up.
I'm able to follow through with my ideas... What a high!

I am starting to enjoy this break from moving around, so much so, that staying put might become a habit……and for the first time that’s OK.
Steady days are here!
for awhile anyway!

Harvest

The last 6 months has seen our table laden with happy things of mother nature. This area has a strong community of smart folk, who grow and make there own organic produce and products.

These are the beautiful organic foods we have been feasting on in the last two seasons of autumn and winter. All grown in the community then swapped or given.
Eggs
Garlic
Potatoes (3 sorts)
Rocket, mustard greens, silverbeet, kale
Pears
Walnuts
Walnuts are soooo good fresh!

Chestnuts
Oranges, mandarines, lemons, limes and grapefruit
Quinces
Broccoli
Celery
Leeks
Beetroot
Sourdough bread
Many herbs have been dried and stored peppermint, sage and oregano amongst others
Lemon lime cordial and marmalade has been made with the citrus.
 Dried Corn for Seed
And milk from my cow has been keeping our family in milk, ice cream, and yogurt,
There are some vegetable seeds also collected from the garden ready to be planted.

We thank mother earth, and the gardeners who tend and care for the plants
And we look forward to the next few months when blueberries, cherries, strawberries, artichokes, home made cheese and all sorts of other lovely things grace our table.

Moments Of Monday

I was about to go to bed
But then I remembered
It's Monday so...
These are some bits of my week, cause I didn’t take any photos today.
While my good camera travels the world with my husband, my motivation for photo taking has waned.
I did manage a few shots though and so did a mystery photographer!

this one was by the mystery camera thief.

Beautiful yellow moss!
the colour of mustard

On retreat

He is just such a yummy baby!

There has been lots going on, both on the external and internal realms
All good though,
So many blessings

Away with the...

You may be wondering where I am but probably not.
Im running and flying and not touching base at all.
Im out in the wonder woods dancing a mandala of time and space and for a little while I wont be back.

I will be here on the other side catching my breath.

See you at landing time, a week or two, id say.

Moments of Monday (I know it's Thursday!)

It’s was a low current day, my moon was calm, clouds dappled the light over my quiet mood.
Peaceful, Uneventful, calm and unremarkable
I forgot to do, and do and do. Like I do!
My pace slowed and
I caught my breath!

Days like this are
anonymous
a buffer!

Wish Hunters and Aprons

So last week on our epic journey to town (always epic when you live 1.5hrs away) we picked up a few very wonderful things (the flu wasn’t one of them!) the best thing of the day was a traditional hand woven, hand dyed Tibetan apron.

This piece of gold blew my mind for days, how did it get to this op shop!  There must be less than 1000 of these in this country. My quick statistical analysis came up with that im a very lucky woman to find it… Yay

Next were some funky and thoughtful books (I will confess later of my substance abuse problem for all things booky I just cant get enough!)

a rainbow crochet blanket

and these Magical Japanese blobby things.

At the beginning of the year, I was given 2 of these blob men by a friend returning from a Japanese adventure, she told me all about them, including the Japanese name and custom. A birth and 3 months of breast feeding (always the excuse) and all I recall was that you paint a eye on them as you make a wish and they find what it is you asked for.

When it comes true you know that the little ones have done their job. And you must then paint the other eye and the little spirit dudes are complete.

We found another 2 during our obligatory op shop hunt, so with wishes aplenty we opened the eye and let them roam.

These wish hunters got fast to work looking for our dreams!

I try to go to town once a month, less if I can help it. So thrifty thrills have got to last a long time… these ones will.
