Hello there,
A friend of mine
dropped in for a few days last week and we decided to visit Dongyu Gatsal Ling,
a nunnery under the direction of Tenzin Palmo.
Tenzin Palmo came to
my attention some years ago, through a book written about her called Cave in the snow, A fantastic true story of this English
born woman who moved to the Himalayas and subsequently completed a 12 year
solitary retreat in a high cave isolated by snow for months of the year.
She
not only inspired an audience of western Buddhists and those into a great story with her tale but has
continued to lift up the hearts of many Tibetan women with the fulfilment of
her wish and completion of a Tibetan nunnery.

ReplyDeleteStunning. It's so lovely to see this temple rise up from the ground. I saw Tenzin Palmo give satsang in Sydney about 12 years ago. She was speaking about the proposed nunnery then and she gave me what I consider to be some of the most important spiritual teachings I've received. I too love the book Cave in the Snow.
